Q:Brett was thrilled to see you dressed as the SQUAT Team. Awesome!!!
Q:LOVE the costumes!
Thanks!
Q:You probably don't remember me, but we went to school together a few years ago. GSU? This is Carolyn. If not that's okay, love the cosplay!
Thanks! I think I remember you. Were you in marching band?
Q:I love Lucy. Your Tumblr says so. But do you love me too? :)
BUT OF COURSE, MY DEAR!
(And yes, that needed to be in all caps.)
Q:You are obviously cool. Do I know you? :)
First off, thanks! I like to think I’m a pretty cool person too.
I don’t believe we know each other first hand, but I do know your grits & lime partner Tiffany! We were both on Southern Pride’s color guard at Georgia Southern in 2004, when I was a lowly freshman. She tweeted a link to your tumblr and as soon as I saw the Erk Russell video I knew I had to follow my fellow Eagle!
Q:Hooray, RA life! Where do you go to college at?
I went to Georgia Southern University for graphic design. I’ve actually already graduated (at the lowest point in the recession, yay me), but going back to school has been on my mind recently.
Q:I know this isn't a question, but can ya tell us more about you? Where are you from? Name? Favourite ice cream flavour?
It’s a perfectly good question! My name is Lucy, and it’s not short for anything. Every first born female in my family has a name that starts with L. I was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and I’ve lived in Georgia my entire life. I hope to move out of state soon, but it all depends on where I can get a job.
I have two favorite ice cream flavors: vanilla and butter pecan. However, usually I tell people it’s butter pecan, because telling people vanilla is your favorite ice cream flavor tends to put you on their short list of most boring people ever.
Any other questions? Just ask!
Q:Filthy Whore for Bruce Mau Est. 1988 :P
I expect you to make this into a shirt and wear it to all your interviews. :D
Q:hahaha that works too. glad to find another smart mac-using designer like myself.
Oops, you jumped the gun on that statement. While I do favor the 13” Macbook Pro, I don’t currently own one, sadly enough. I only had custody of a friend’s while she was in Kenya for 6 months. Currently I do all my work on a PC, which isn’t bad because I built it myself and it’s hacked to high heaven. It’s cheaper to fix and maintain, which is great since I’m living on the cheap.
I’m saving to get my own 13” Pro, but it doesn’t seem like a purchase I’ll be making soon. Even then, I’ll be using both Mac and PC. Mac because I do have a little Apple fangirl hiding somewhere in my psyche, and PC because I’m also a power user, and it irks me that Apple strips a lot of the controls away from me and assumes I’m a drooling idiot.
Q:If you were stranded on an island for 1 year, would you do with your time?
I guess it would depend on the island and what I get to work with. Let’s assume nothing but what’s on said island, and let’s assume that I actually remember all the survival training from Scouts so I survive the year.
I would probably whittle, if I had a knife, or weave things. If I wasn’t being picked up at the end of the year I’d probably go the Castaway route and try and make a boat of some kind. Once I take care of the basic survival things, my brain reverts back to creation mode. It’s what I like to do.
That and possibly trying to tame the wildlife. :P
Q:(in reply to your comment on the birth announcement) Um... IF I SHAT GOLD! The printing costs on that puppy must have been insane. Screen printed (okay, maybe the guy who made it has his own) AND pressed (debossed). As far as I'm concerned, this kid was born with a trust fund in the wings, and will therefore be a hipster. Fucking hipsters.
Alright, so maybe yours wouldn’t be pressed, but you wouldn’t want your child coming into the world feeling like he’s worth less than a hipster, would you? Fight back! Trust funds be damned!
Also, thanks for the promotion! Good way to start a Friday!
Q:Aha..Ahahahahaha! Most retarded organization ever.
"According to sources, the Atlanta Thrashers are shopping the 8th overall pick. This is general manager Rick Dudley's sixth draft as a GM and he has traded a first round pick five times, including the 24th pick in tonight's draft in the Dustin Byfuglien deal earlier in the week." (tsn.ca/nhl)
Like I said. Retirement community of the NHL. Now I absolutely adore my home teams and I’ll cheer myself hoarse for them, but the rose colored glasses came off years ago. Also, Rick Dudley is an idiot.
